Born: 2006, Victoria, British Colombia, Canada.

Max Shaver is a contemporary multidisciplinary visual artist based in Vancouver, Canada, working on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. His work often explores the vulnerability of intimacy, connection, relationships, and the emotional tension of the human body through expressive colour, gesture, and form.
As a multidisciplinary artist, Shaver works across painting, sculpture, photography, video, performance, and sound. His practice investigates how people relate to one another physically and emotionally, often using the body as both a subject and symbolic site. Organic forms, raw mark-making, and material experimentation are combined to create work that feels immediate, personal, and unresolved.
Shaver is currently a BFA student at Emily Carr University of Art + Design, where he continues to develop new bodies of work across media. His portfolio includes original artworks available for exhibition and collection.
